Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko caused a stir Sunday night during a live interview on Citizen TV when he went after former presidential contestant Peter Kenneth, calling him a thief and a dunderhead “who scored 4 Es in High School.”
An unruly Sonko, who is vying for Nairobi governor’s seat, gave interviewer Hussein Muhamed a hard time as he frequently shouted “he can go to hell.”During the Sunday Live show, Sonko went after several other government officials severally saying they too can go to hell.
He said Kenneth should apologize to president Kenyatta for “refusing to step down and support him in 2013.”
The former Gatanga MP ran for president despite calls for him to join Uhuru’s team with critics saying that he was “splitting the Kikuyu vote unnecessarily.”
On Sunday, Sonko said he can never step down for Kenneth. “Over my dead mother’s body,” he said.
“I don’t fear anyone,” he added.
“I used to be the biggest thief,” he said when asked whether there is a likelihood of him losing the Nairobi gubernatorial Jubilee nomination.
