Nairobi City Lawyer Donald Kipkorir has found himself on the receiving end of irate Kenyans following his appeal to the City Governor to drive out hawkers from Karen on January 11.
The resentful lawyer felt that Kenyans paying top dollar were being cheated out of their cash as they had paid to gain maximum satisfaction from the leafy suburbs.
“The Karen Town roundabout is chocked with Matatus, hawkers and Kiosks. People choose to live in different parts of Nairobi because of the city’s master plan,” Kipkorir observed in a Facebook post, “Kenya is a capitalist state…Not a socialist Paradise.”
His proclamation annoyed Kenyans who took to Facebook to give the lawyer a piece of their mind.
Kipkogei Cherop “Kaka you don’t have an alternative but to move to the livable cities i.e Melbourne, Vienna, Vancouver, Toronto, Clagary, Adelaide.”
Dorcus Cheruiyot “There is a mama who sells good fish near those vibandas. Don’t touch that one”
John LJ “The people that buy from those kiosks have been employed by arrogant nyaparas like you Donald. They build the hub that you go to have lunch”
Kinoti wa Mawrigi “Karen migrated to Nyanyui ages ago kindly tell you fellow billionaires to fund expansion of the road from Nyanyuki toNairobi and hawkers want nag you
